Quick Thought of the Morning

Why will regulating health insurance companies destroy our republic and represent an overreaching of the federal government into states' rights but the federal government must absolutely as a high priority tell the states how they should decide verdicts in torts cases?

Why are you asking logical questions? Anything that's not good for corporations is not good for America, doncha know. A government-run, single payer healthcare system takes away profit and the ability to buy all those homes, yachts, and servants for all those poor, poor CEO's. Tort reform helps protect the same CEO's. It's the American way. Remember, no profit for corporations, no good for America. Yes profit for CEO's, good for America.

Joking aside, one of the most disturbing quotes I ever heard came from the 1972 movie version of the musical, "1776." The song, "Cool, Cool Considerate Men," was dropped from the final cut of the movie before being released to the public. President Nixon didn't want the public to see it, . http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068156/trivia.

Viewing the restored number, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JDNTS2wHHo, will make it very clear why. It scared the hell out of me, and I believe absolutely that the philosophy shown is still very much prevalent today.
